Voxlane Voice-first writing for macOS
Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 9, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Voxlane collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit voxlane.io, create an account, sign in, purchase a subscription, download the app, or use our voice-first writing features.

At a glance

Voxlane is a voice-first writing and dictation service. We process account, subscription, device, security, and support information to run the service. If you use dictation or AI-assisted writing features, we may also process the voice and text content you choose to submit so the feature can work. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your content to train our own models.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Your name, email address, password, and any profile details you submit when creating or managing an account.
  • Your support requests, feedback, survey responses, and any information you send us by email or through the website.
  • Content you choose to submit to product features, which may include voice audio, transcripts, prompts, selected text, instructions, and generated output.

Information from sign-in providers

  • If you sign in with Google, we receive the Google account identifier, name, email address, email verification status, and basic profile data Google makes available within the openid email profile scopes.
  • If you sign in with Apple, we receive the Apple account identifier, email address, email verification status, and the name data Apple provides on first authorization. We may also learn whether the address is an Apple private relay address.

Billing and transaction information

  • Subscriptions, entitlement state, Stripe customer IDs, Stripe subscription IDs, billing status, renewal dates, cancellation dates, and related transaction metadata.
  • Payment card details are processed by Stripe, not stored directly on Voxlane servers.

Device, app, and security information

  • Device identifier, platform, app version, last seen time, entitlement sync data, and device metadata needed to connect your account to supported apps.
  • Session and security information such as refresh sessions, IP address, browser or app user agent, password reset activity, and anti-fraud or abuse logs.
  • Essential website data such as cookies or similar technologies needed to keep you signed in, secure forms, and maintain account sessions.

How we use information

  • To create and manage your account, authenticate sign-in attempts, and let you access the website, app, and APIs.
  • To provide dictation, rewriting, translation, summarization, editing, and other voice-first or AI-assisted writing features that you request.
  • To process subscriptions, deliver trials or paid entitlements, collect payments, prevent fraud, and keep billing records.
  • To register devices, sync account status across the website and app, and deliver signed software downloads and updates.
  • To respond to support requests, troubleshoot errors, improve reliability, and protect the security of our systems, users, and business.
  • To comply with law, enforce our terms, resolve disputes, and maintain appropriate accounting, tax, and audit records.

AI and content handling

We process customer content only to provide the requested feature, keep the service secure, and support the product. We do not use your voice dictations, transcripts, prompts, or selected text to train our own models. Where we rely on third-party speech, hosting, or model providers, we require them to handle that content as service providers for Voxlane, not for their own advertising or model-training purposes.

On-device history

Some product history is designed to remain on your device rather than in your web account. If a feature keeps history locally, that history is not synced to your Voxlane account unless the feature explicitly says otherwise or you choose to share it with us, such as in a support request.

How we share information

  • With vendors and infrastructure providers that help us run the service, such as hosting, authentication, email delivery, customer support, analytics, speech processing, AI processing, or billing providers.
  • With Stripe to process purchases, manage subscriptions, prevent fraud, and provide the customer billing portal.
  • With Google or Apple when you choose those sign-in methods and the integration requires exchanging authentication data.
  • With professional advisers, law enforcement, regulators, or other third parties when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.

Voxlane's use of information received from Google APIs is limited to the purposes disclosed in this Privacy Policy, including authentication, account administration, and service security.

Retention, security, and your choices

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may differ by data type. For example, billing and tax records may be retained longer than transient processing logs.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

  • You may update certain profile details from your account settings.
  • You may cancel a paid subscription through the Stripe billing portal or by contacting support.
  • You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information by emailing support@voxlane.io.
  • You may choose not to use optional sign-in providers or optional product features that require content processing.

International transfers

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those locations may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

Children's privacy

Voxlane is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the service.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice where required.
